board games on the iPad
http://bit.ly/cl1FaD iPad fever is heading up and I stand by my initial post, that the iPad will be a hit across all demographics, particularly 60+, many of whom will use it as their only computer.
Check out these board games - they are going to look amazing on the iPad and work really well on road trips!

co-viewing apps
http://bit.ly/cM8gkJ An interesting trend in social gaming is co-viewing apps, and I think the iPad is going to rule the day to this end. People already log in to Twitter and Facebook during major televised events, but I think this trend is going to become the norm. In a few years people will laugh at the notion of watching TV without a device in their hands interacting with others about it.

Addiction, Redemption, and "LOST"
http://bit.ly/6Vy5Ph Before the last season of “Lost” premiered, Jeff Jensen wrote a great article about the themes of addiction and redemption that have woven through “Lost” for six seasons.

Evernote Use #472
I use #evernote to archive encouragement I receive from others. When someone sends me a really nice e-mail, I forward it to evernote and store it in a notebook.
When someone encourages you, do you delete it, forget about it, or archive it?

Things for iPad
http://bit.ly/cQen6A Here’s a great interview & discussion about adapting Things for the iPad. It’s amazing to see developers work a concept so thoroughly before a device is even launched.

'LOST'
“Lost” has been such a satisfying series to watch that I don’t care much how it ends. The (now iconic) moments they’ve had over the years have been great. I know a ton of people are watching, wanting to find out the secrets to mysteries, and I want to know too. But for the most part I’m enjoying the journey.
There may be spin-offs or other related mysteries about...

eBooks
http://bit.ly/9FvLRU Many book publishers will go bankrupt. Not because people stop reading, but because of their refusal to change.
Publishers used to find readers for their books, says Seth Godin. Instead, they should be finding books for their readers. You can hear more of his interview with The Reading Edge here.

Tsunami Videos
With all of the major earthquakes happening this week I ran across this collection of Tsunami vids from YouTube. Amazing/scary stuff. I read a lot of news during the 2004 tragedy but I don’t remember seeing these before.
Anyone living on the western part of the U.S. (near the ocean or Yellowstone) should have three days of food and water stored up just in case!

That Unmistakable Streepness
http://nyti.ms/b7gQqG There’s just something about Meryl Streep that sets her in a category above her peers.
I think she hasn’t won an Academy Award in so long because she is so good she’s in her own category. And she’s never had a “comeback” role because she never left.
If I were in charge I’d give her a lifetime achievement award and bar her from...

Dawn Treader news

Some news is coming out about “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader” and it looks like they were more faithful to the book than “Prince Caspian” was. I’m looking forward to the movie!

rebranding Mickey Mouse
http://bit.ly/3sgCOb
Things are always changing, and keeping up with consumers’ tastes is challenging, even for Disney. Mickey Mouse strikes me as a tired, dated icon and I’m intrigued with the rebranding and what they are going to come up with to compete in today’s marketplace.

status updates per minute
http://tcrn.ch/aDAtuP If you add the Facebook status updates sent when the American’s tied the hockey game and when Canada won the gold, it turns out to be about 3.5 million.
Check out the graph from TechCrunch. Pretty impressive.
